Last year more than 22,000 entries were made in the Air Forces National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1 Men’s Basketball Championship on-line bracket tournament promotion. This year promises to be even bigger.

The AF Hoops promotion gives Air Force sports fans (eligible ID card holders over the age of 18), the chance to win big prizes by selecting teams in the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament.

“The beauty of it is you don’t have to get the teams right to win prizes,” said Fred McKenney, Chief, AF Food and Beverage Division. “You have a chance to win, just by registering and entering your bracket selections.”

Beginning on 15 Feb you can pick up a game piece at Starlifter Lanes Snackbar, Charleston Club (closed on 2/15) and the GlobeMaster Grille (no purchase required) and register on-line using the code on the game piece.  Then on 14 Mar 10 you can fill in your tournament bracket selections. Up to 10 brackets may be played. Picks can be made and changed, but final picks for all rounds must be submitted by 0600 EST, 18 Mar 10. Participants must be 18 years or older.

“In addition to the on-line tournament, folks should stop by one of our activities, they are great places to watch the games,” said Frank Black, acting Director of Programs, Air Force Services Agency.  “We’ve partnered with Coke to provide some great prizes.”

The first place prize 0f $10,000 is sponsored by Coca Cola (federal endorsement of sponsor not intended). The second place winner receives $5,000; third place is $2,500, fourth place is $1,000.

The NCAA Men’s Division 1 Championship Tournament has been a mainstay for sport aficionados for decades. Now, even the novice can take part in this fun and exciting event while enjoying food and beverage specials as well.
