Free University Project "The mission of the FREE UNIVERSITY PROJECT on the Internet is to produce directly, through links, guided independent study materials that can lead to college credit by examination."
There are links to many subject areas, tests, external degree program, student support areas, computer literacy tutorials and a vast array of related information to help you get college credit for little money.
Peterson's and AF Resource Center Use any Internet connected computer to access information brought to you through Peterson's by the Air Force Library and Information Service. At this site you can download practice files for the following placement tests: SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and MCAT. You can find extensive information on colleges, scholarships, careers, and many of the vocational and educational subjects for which Peterson's has been known since 1966.
Online tutoring and homework help is just a click away: Tutor.com is the world’s leading provider of online tutoring and education support, currently serving thousands of tutoring sessions each day to patrons of public libraries in North America and worldwide to the U.S Military. With Tutor.com, K-12 students, college students and adults have access to help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from a live, certified, subject matter expert tutor. There are no limits to the number of times a user can connect to a tutor. All subjects of math, Science, English and Social Studies are available. There are even special writing tutors that will proofread a piece of writing in real-time. College students and adults have access to subject matter help, as well as resume-writing help from qualified resume expert tutors, GED Prep help and Citizenship test prep help.
Eligible Users include: active duty military, reservists and national guard who are currently on active duty in a deployed status and DoD civilians in a deployed status and the dependents of authorized users.

Summer Reading Program! The Summer Reading program gets you on board with books! Cast away your spare time by reading, and cruise the library shelves for the treasure in those books.

Rosetta Stone Online Language Center Available Free Through The Library The AMC Library Program is pleased to announce the purchase of licensing for 1,001 online simultaneous users for the Rosetta Stone Language Learning Center. This service provides AMC library users free access to language learning tools for 30 languages including French, Spanish, Eastern Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Farsi, and Pashto.
Paperback book swap Do you have paperback books in good condition? The Base Library has a free book swap where you can exchange your paperbacks for another. Drop by the Library to browse “the stacks” or pick up some great reading.
Story & Craft Hour Story & Craft Hour Join us every Tuesday for a free Toddler Story and Craft Hour at 10 a.m. Every session features stories, crafts and finger plays. There is limited space to our Tuesday story time and prior registration is required. For more details or to register, please call 963-3320.
Daycare Story & Craft Hour Every Thursday @ 10 am - We will be reading the same stories and doing the same crafts as the regular story time on Tuesdays, just on a different day. Due to limited seating re-registration is required by the Monday before day care story hour. Call 963-3320 to sign up.
Base Library is a computer “hotspot” The Charleston AFB Library is now a computer “hotspot” for wireless-ready laptop work and surfing the web from a patron’s personal computer. Some service providers charge for this convenience; it’s free at the Library. Just show up with your wireless-ready laptop, equipped with a network card, find yourself a seat anywhere in the building, and go to work! Take a personal tourThis month the Base Library is conducting in-house tours and orientations twice a month: the third Tuesday at 2 p.m., and the third Thursday at 6:30 p.m. These “excursions” include an explanation of services and programs, as well as Online Public Catalog usage. They will also give an introduction to other on-line databases. Advanced sign-up is required. Please call the Base Library at 963-3320 for more information or to register for the next orientation.
