SAI Movie Night at the AB Library

7 June at 8-11 pm. SAI - Summer Reading Event: Kung-Fu Movie Night.  A selection of Kung-Fu movies and Asian snack foods like pocky, wasabi peas, and more will be on hand for the adventurous to enjoy.

SAI Digital Photography Class

22 & 24 May from 1730-1930. Douglas Cunningham of the Charleston Center for Photography will teach you the basics of composition to include aperture and shutter speed for optimal exposure. This 2-part crash course in digital photography will start you on the right track by giving you a firm foundation of knowledge about this versatile art.

Whitewater Rafting/Zipline Adventure

20 May 12 from 0700-2000. SAI is partnering with Outdoor Rec to provide the Single Airmen with a great opportunity to spend a day at the National Whitewater Center rafting, zip lining, rock-climbing, mountain biking and much more.

23 May at 18:30. Come on over to Auto Hobby and be a little grease monkey. Just $5 gets you an oil change and the skills to change your own oil for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. That right there is value.

Open Mic Night

Starting 4 May from 1900 to 2200. We will begin our regular schedule of open mic nights every other Friday night at Rookies. Bring your instruments or your background tracks and show us what you've been holed up in your room creating. Feel free to contribute any genre or style. Poetry is also welcome. We want to see who's playing. Free entry. Great food and atmosphere. Live music will be played every other Friday night at Rookies.

May Mondays Cooking Classes

3 Mondays in May beginning on the 7th @ the Airman and Family Readiness Center. Airmen have asked for these and here they are: Cooking classes!

We'll show you how to make delicious and affordable meals for yourself and others. Cost is $10 per class and includes dinner and some of the kitchen tools you'll need to pull these meals off in your own dorm kitchen.

  • 14 May - Mexican
  • 21 May - Grilling

Jujitsu demo

26 May from 2030 to 2300. Come out to Rookies at 8:30pm Saturday the 26th of May to be a part of a jujitsu demonstration followed by preliminary fights and then the pay-per-view UFC fight Dos Santos vs. Overeem. Try a new martial art form and enjoy the UFC brawl.

Tennis Jam: Joint Base Tennis Club

Tennis anyone? Join the SAI Tennis Club which begins on Monday 9 April at 4:30 pm on the AB Outdoor Rec Center’s  tennis  courts. Learn the game’s rules and scoring, how to hold a racquet, and the proper form to serve and volley, hit overheads and flawless groundstrokes plus game strategies for both doubles and singles competition.

Krav Maga Classes

Krav Maga is the official self defense system of the Israeli Defense Forces, and has been taught to hundreds of law enforcement agencies and thousands of civilians in the United States. It is a noncompetitive eclectic self-defense system that involves striking techniques, wrestling and grappling. Krav Maga is known for its focus on real-world situations and extremely efficient, brutal counter-attacks.
