Looking for some great places to work out and stay in shape? The base offers three fitness centers that just may be the place for you. We offer state-of-the-art racquetball courts, and a variety of Nautilus, Life Fitness, cardio and selector weight machines and free-weight areas that await your workout regimen. After your workout, relax in the sauna in Sam’s Gym prior to your shower.
Sunrise Cycling Class
Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays at 0530. Enjoy an effective cardio workout which will improve speed, strength, and endurance while listening to great music surrounded by other fitness-minded people. You control your own workout whether you're cross-training or trying it for the first time. For all fitness levels - adults only. This class is Free to Active Duty, all others pay $2
High Intensity Interval Training at WS Fitness
Tue & Thu mornings at 0530. It's time to get fit! This class is designed for those who are ready for results. With timed segments of intense cardio followed by active rest – over a 60 minute class. Be ready for anything; it never gets boring and the results are GREAT!
Mud Challenge
17 May from 1430 to 1830 on the quad outside Sam's Gym. This is your chance to play in the mud while testing your fitness stamina. Take on the challenge of mud pits and obstacles, where getting dirty and having a muddy good time is what it’s all about!
Zumba at Sam's!
The ZUMBA classes are free to ACTIVE duty and $2 per session for all other ID card holders. Classes can be purchased at the front desk of SAMS FITNESS CENTER along with the $20 punch cards.
Racquetball Challenge Ladder
The Racquetball Challenge Ladder is an ongoing tournament designed to help players improve their racquetball skills, meet other players and enhance enjoyment of the game. Racquetball matches are held at the players’ convenience at the racquetball courts within Sam’s Fitness Center. Sign-ups are currently being accepted at the fitness center front desk. Classes FREE to Active Duty Military
Did you know that the Weapons Station offers group exercise classes free of charge to active duty military and only $2 per class for all other patrons? A variety of classes such as yoga, spinning, step & sculpt and more are available in the Group Exercise Room, located in Bldg. 725 next to the Post Office. Call Sam‘s Fitness Center at 764-4173 for more information.
Stroller Rollers Fitness Program
Attention new mothers! Now there is a way to get fit while spending quality time with your baby! With the Stroller Rollers program, you‘ll shape up with a power walk and body sculpting while strolling with your baby. It‘s a great chance to interact with other new moms! Classes meet at the Weapons Station Gymnasium on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 to 9 a.m. and 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Classes are free. Materials are provided. Yoga
Yoga classes concentrate on the link between breathing, body, and movement through gentle yoga poses. Yoga is offered Tuesdays 6:45-8:15 p.m., and Thursdays 6:45-7:45 p.m.
Step and Sculpt
Class consists of body toning and cardiovascular training, using step aerobics, bands, dumbbells and body bars. Step & Sculpt classes are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Strength, Endurance, Core Training (SECT)
This class is designed to improve strength and endurance and is conducted in three minute increments alternating strength and cardio while focusing on all six muscle groups. SECT classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m.
Road Rage
Monthly beginning 25 Jan. Road Rage is a 5k Race that will be held the last Wednesday of every month. Start time is 7 am. Meet on the quad by Sam’s Fitness Center prior to start time. This event is free and is open to all Military ID card holders. Our first meet will begin on Feb 29, 2012.

Judo and Jujitsu Class
Train with the largest judo club in America! This class is designed for anyone who desires to compete, stay in shape, and/or develop self-confidence. Judo/Jujitsu emphasizes spectacular throws and pins and is open to beginners through advanced enthusiasts. *Enrollment in USJA and purchase of uniform required.

- First and third Fridays 1900-2030
- Saturdays 0900-1200
This class is Free to Active Duty; all others $2 per person per class.
Therapeutic Massage
What are the benefits of therapeutic massage? Massage therapy melts away stress and tension, relieves head and muscular aches, improves blood circulation, reduces injury healing time, and is an excellent preventative health care. JB Charleston Weapons Station fitness centers offer therapeutic massage from our licensed massage therapists by appointment.
Massages are given in the Massage Therapy Room in Bldg. 725. The cost is $35 (30 min.) $60 (60 min.) and $75 (90min.). A complete list of massage services is available at your MWR fitness centers. Call (843) 764-4173 for more information.
