Outdoor Adventure Center
The Outdoor Adventure Center includes outdoor recreation equipment rental, classroom space and retail sales. In addition, the highlight of the Outdoor Adventure Center is a 30-foot-high climbing wall. The climbing wall is available to provide visitors an opportunity for informal or “drop-in” recreation, seven days a week. Everyone is welcome to climb during the Outdoor Adventure Center’s open hours. Just walk in! Beginners are encouraged. The Outdoor Adventure Center provides all the necessary equipment for climbing. Rental items such as campers, tents, mountain bikes, canoes, kayaks and much more are available at the Outdoor Adventure Center.
Climbing Wall Birthday Bash Celebration

Hunting & Fishing Licenses and Permits
At Joint Base Charleston-Weapons Station, our forests, abundant with deer and wild turkey and our beautiful marshland rivers teeming with a variety of fish, make us a sportsman's paradise. The knowledgeable staff at the OAC will help maximize hunting and fishing opportunities for Sailors and Airmen, family members, DOD civilians and guests.
OAC Rock Climbing Wall
Nothing offers stress relief quite like exercise, and one of the most fun and exciting ways to get a total body workout here on the Weapons Station, is at the Outdoor Adventure Center‘s climbing wall. The climbing wall stands 30 ft. high and offers many different climbing routes with varying degrees of difficulty. Whether you are a beginner or an experience climber, the OAC has a climbing program to suit you.
Camping
Your Outdoor Adventure Center has everything you‘ll need to enjoy the great outdoors! Tents that will accommodate from one to five people, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, lanterns, two-burner stoves and coolers are all available for rent at a nominal fee. Kayaks, canoes and mountain bikes are also available to make your weekend get-away complete. The center is located in the Bldg. 1700 on Fletcher Street, across from The Dive. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. the OAC is closed Sundays and holidays. OAC Rock Wall Climbing Parties
Looking for something different for your kids‘ next party? Make it a rock wall climbing party at the Weapons Station‘s Outdoor Adventure Center! Our climbing wall is 30 feet high and contains routes of varying difficulty. Our experienced staff will provide all necessary equipment and instruction to have you climbing in no time! It‘s perfect for birthday, team or class parties, or any occasion you want to have memorable fun! We can accommodate groups of up to 25. Participants must weigh at least 40 lbs.
