The Outdoor Adventure Center includes outdoor recreation equipment rental, classroom space and retail sales. In addition, the highlight of the Outdoor Adventure Center is a 30-foot-high climbing wall. The climbing wall is available to provide visitors an opportunity for informal or “drop-in” recreation, seven days a week. Everyone is welcome to climb during the Outdoor Adventure Center’s open hours. Just walk in! Beginners are encouraged. The Outdoor Adventure Center provides all the necessary equipment for climbing.
Rental items such as campers, tents, mountain bikes, canoes, kayaks and much more are also available at the Outdoor Adventure Center.

The Information, Tickets and Travel (ITT) office is your one-stop shopping place for discount tickets. The ITT office has discount tickets to most Charleston area entertainment, as well as to many attractions throughout the southeast including Disney World and Universal Studios. The ITT office is located within the Outdoor Adventure Center next to the Uniform Shop in Building 1700 on Fletcher Street, right across the street from The Dive. Your Outdoor Adventure Center has everything you‘ll need to enjoy the great outdoors! Tents that will accommodate from one to four people, sleeping bags, cots and coolers are all available for rent at a nominal fee. The knowledgeable staff at the OAC will help maximize hunting and fishing opportunities for Sailors and Airmen, family members, DOD civilians and guests.
If you intend to hunt or fish on the Weapons Station, South Carolina state hunting/fishing licenses and Weapons Station permits are required and are now available for purchase at your Outdoor Adventure Center.

Nothing offers stress relief quite like exercise, and one of the most fun and exciting ways to get a total body workout here on the Weapons Station, is at the Outdoor Adventure Center‘s climbing wall. The climbing wall stands 30 ft. high and offers many different climbing routes with varying degrees of difficulty. Whether you are a beginner or an experience climber, the OAC has a climbing program to suit you.
Beginning climbers are encouraged to stop by the OAC anytime during operating hours. No appointment is necessary. Our experienced climbing instructors will provide you with climbing instruction, equipment and everything you will need to get your climbing adventure started.
The cost of the introductory climb is only $6 and includes your certification and one hour climb. Once you get the hang of it, you'll want to purchase a membership card, hourly climbing pass or a daily pass. This will allow you to climb as many times as you wish in the allotted time frame and to experiment with all the climbing routes.
